Person

I am a PhD student in Cognitive Zoology since January 2013, under the main supervision of Dr Mathias Osvath, and Dr Tomas Persson secondarily.

My research focuses on the cognitive abilities of apes and corvids in the physical domain. Both proximate and ultimate mechanisms of physical cognition are investigated, in the hope we will learn more about what these animals understand about the physical world they inhabit, how it has evolved and why particularly in these distantly related taxa.

Currently we are writing a review of the age-old string-pulling problem, and we are testing several hypotheses of this paradigm on orangutans, chimpanzees, ravens and New Caledonian crows.
