Person

My research interests are in theintersection between intellectual history, philosophy and science studies. Recently I have commenced a new project, entitled “History and late modernity – historiography in flux.” A general aim is to examine how historiographical traditions are employed in contemporary history and philosophy. One distinct focus is on the concept of post-secularism and its relation to the Enlightenment values. This project connects to a main intellectual interest: Enlightenments’ values and how fair society is feasible. The intellectual currents that evolved in the eighteenth century still make their marks on our time, about democratic values, universalism, particularism, religion and identity politics. The project is connected to another area of research interest:"Technoscience and the Enlightenment Vision. New Regimes of KnowledgeProduction. " The focus is the political and intellectual conditions of emerging knowledge production in the 21th century Europe.

About the research

My research interests are in the intersection between intellectual history, philosophy and science studies. Recently I have commenced a new project, entitled “History and religion – historiography in flux.” A general aim is to examine which historiographical traditions are displayed in contemporary history and philosophy. One focus is on the concept of post-secularism and its relation to the Enlightenment values. This project connects to a main intellectual interest since my dissertation about the Enlightenments’ view of man, namely how is fair society feasible and how ideas contribute to form a public spirit and an historical consciousness. The intellectual currents that evolved during the eighteenth century still make their marks on our time, not at least in the political discussions about universalism, particularism, religion and identity politics.  Currently I am finishing an earlier project about the Swedish analytical philosophy’s post war cultural history “The Objective Reality. An Imaginary in Late Modern Swedish Analytic Philosophy.” The project is connected to my third area of research interest: "Technoscience and the Enlightenment Vision. New Regimes of Knowledge Production. Epistemological and Ethical Conditions." The focus is the political and intellectual conditions of emerging knowledge production in the 21th century Europe.
