2023 Jonathan Dancy

The Metaphysics of Reasons

Jonathan Dancy is currently Professor of Philosophy at University of Texas at Austin and Research Professor at the University of Reading. He previously taught for many years at the University of Keele. In 2016, he was elected fellow of the British Academy. His many influential writings span over various topics including epistemology, moral theory, and theory of action. 

Jonathan Dancy presented the Pufendorf Lectures 23-25 May on the topic of ‘The Metaphysics of Reasons’:  
May 23 – ‘Reasons and Causes’,
May 24 – 'Which Things are Reasons'

and May 25 – ‘Solving Prichard’s Problem?’.

The three lectures took place 15.15-17 in C126 in the LUX building, Lund University. The lectures were open to the public.
