I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE), Paris, in «cotutelle» with the University of Trento and a researcher in medieval philosophy at Lund University (RAS project). My current work concerns how medieval philosophers understood scientific knowledge, especially the role of «certainty» (certitudo) in the relationship between conclusions and first principles. I focus on the medieval reception of Aristotle, with particular attention to Posterior Analytics and the ways Aristotle's account of scientific knowledge was interpreted and developed in the Middle Ages (XIIIth-XIVth centuries).
