The Future of Urban Last Mile Deliveries - Not a piece of cake

Urban last mile delivery has become an increasingly relevant topic in this day and age, where the urban population is growing at the same time as climate change forces nations to limit emissions. The demand for fast and flexible deliveries in urban areas accelerates, which further escalates the need to optimize these last mile deliveries since they are the most polluting part of the supply chain.

The Impacts of Climate Change on the Livelihoods of Small-Scale Traders in Zambia: A Case Study of Cross-Border Traders in Kazungula District

Climate change is one of the global problems that the world is facing today. Previous studies have shown that climate change has negatively affected the livelihoods of the vulnerable population. However, understanding climate change is usually influenced by how it affects a person’s livelihood. For agriculture-dependent communities, it has been documented that climate change includes rainfall vari

The Howl of the Lone Wolf

Attacks of mass-harm perpetrated by lone actor terrorists, also known as lone wolves which they are called in this study, have been increasing in the last few decades and has become one of the main national security threats in Sweden. With the increase in attacks, so has the research on this type of terrorism, looking at ideological reasons, target selection and the radicalisation process as well

Chip Management in Milling and Drilling of Ductile Cast Iron

This paper presents a comprehensive cross-functional analysis of machining operations for ductile cast iron components in the automotive industry, focusing on the problem of chip carryover and its impact on downstream processes. The research aims to understand the role of machining and identify the source of the issue, by analyzing different machining sequences and the chips that affect the final

Racial Discrimination in Sweden and the US: A Comparative Cross-Sectional Study

Racial discrimination is one of the most fundamental forms of social inequality. It remains prevalent in major progressive democracies such as Sweden and the United States. Limited studies have examined how the two nations differ in a comparative cross-sectional design. This paper aims to understand experiences and opinions regarding ethnicity and discrimination to explore differences and similari

Network reconfiguration for renewable generation maximization

Idag installeras mer och mer solceller på hustIncreasing the amount of renewable generation in distribution networks is a fundamental part of the energy transition. Multiple methods exist to increase the hosting capacity in a grid, to allow larger injections of generation and more efficiently utilize existing infrastructure before operational limits are breached. In this thesis, the method studied for this is network reconfiguration. Many dis

Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy Measurements as a Process Monitoring Approach for Blending with Magnesium Stearate

In tablet manufacturing, the addition of lubricant to the formulation is of high importance as it ensures smooth compression and ejection of tablets and thereby tablet quality. This study focused on lubrication of tablet formulation using magnesium stearate (MgSt) as a lubricant and microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) as bulk material. Powder blends were analysed to investigate whether an effect of v

The aim of this study was to combine my practice journal, as a coloratura soprano, with knowledge of breath-/voice- physiology to create a better understanding of my instrument. The research question was: how does the singer use breath support to phonate and how can it be described from a functional anatomy per

Breaking Bars, Building Hope: Redefining Rehabilitation with Open Prisons in India

India's open prisons offer an innovative method of confinement by giving some prisoners more freedom and chances for rehabilitation. However, little is known about how individuals who are directly involved, such as detainees, their families, and prison staff, see these jails. This thesis aims to investigate their viewpoints and experiences, with a particular emphasis on stigma, incarceration,

Förutom att jämföra gymnasiets kursplaner i Since the seventies, three different curriculums have been used to regulate the Swedish upper secondary school. Different political interests and influences from curriculum theory have made these look very different. In our study we have compared the different curricula used in mathematics using a theoretical framework based on Basil Bernstein's concepts classification and framing. In addition

The Impact of the Swedish Student Financial Aid Income Ceiling - A Student Perspective

Swedish students obtaining student financial aid from Centrala Studiestödsnämnden (CSN) face an income ceiling of how much they can earn per half a calendar year before their aid is lowered according to a matrix. The thesis investigates how CSN’s income ceiling impacts students. It is important to examine it as it is a hot topic both in the public debate and among politicians. The analysis of the

Setting the scene: from voluntary to mandatory sustainability reporting in Korea
