BMP implants in bone formation. Studies in rabbits and rats
Ben är den enda vävnaden i kroppen somBone morphogenic proteins, BMPs, are a group endogenous proteins that are highly conserved through evolution. The amino acid sequences of about 15 different BMPs are now known and recombinant human BMPs are commercially available. Implantation of an individual BMP protein is sufficient to induce bone formation even at a subcutaneous site. Our initial studies discovered inhibition of bone formation

Collection and Use of Data from School Egress Trials
Data was collected from five evacuations from the same school building, conducted in Spain between 2011 and 2014. Children from 6 to 16 years old were observed during the evacuation exercises. Four of the evacuations were unannounced, while one was semi-announced: the staff being aware that the drill would be conducted on a particular day, while the students were unaware. Information was gathered
Slip resistant properties of footwear on ice
Current research on slipperiness of footwear has mainly focused on floors and lubricated floors. Slips and falls on icy and snowy surfaces involve not only outdoor workers, but also pedestrians and the general public; and occur in cold regions and in winter season in many parts of the world. However, in comparison with the size of the problem, research on slips and falls on icy and snowy surfaces

Euclidean Reconstruction from Image Sequences with Varying and Unknown Focal Length and Principal Point
The special case of reconstruction from image sequences taken by cameras with skew equal to 0 and aspect ratio equal to 1 has been treated. These type of cameras, here called cameras with Euclidean image planes, represent rigid projections where neither the principal point nor the focal length is known, it is shown that it is possible to reconstruct an unknown object from images taken by a camera
Development of the Mouse Lateral Telencephalon
The telencephalon is the most rostral part of the vertebrate central nervous system and is comprised of a number of structures important for voluntary movements and higher cognitive processes. This thesis focuses on the genetic mechanisms that control development of a number of telencephalic structures: the olfactory bulb, the striatum as well as the lateral and basolateral nuclei of the amygdala.
Performance audit at the Swedish Supreme Audit Institution (SAI)
Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) constitute important democratic institutions, providing citizens with an independent analysis on how the Governmental Offices and the central public administration function. This paper reports on findings from a survey, submitted to all performance auditors at the Swedish SAI, on 3 May, 2011. The response rate was 70 per cent (65 out of 93 respondents). The survey
