HLA-typerna DR3-DQ2 och DR4-DQ8 innebär en ökad risk att utveckla celiaki.För att undersöka utvecklingen av autoantikroppar och celiaki, studerades 6 403 barn från födseln i USA, Finland, Tyskland och Sverige.Autoimmunitet utvecklades hos 786 barn (12 %).
