This thesis investigates how prominent political leaders construct perceptions of enemies during conflict. Using Schmitt’s Concept of the Political as a starting point, the study explores Julius Caesar’s and George W. Bush’s enemy portrayal of ‘Barbarians’ and ‘Islamic terrorists’.
