Ecology of parasitoids and their hosts in oilseed rape fields

Oilseed rape fields are a very common crop in the agricultural landscape of southern Sweden, and they can harbour surprisingly many insect species. Some of them are herbivores that feed on various parts of the oilseed rape plant, others are natural enemies of the herbivores, and even more species are tourists from the surrounding landscape. WP4 – Land-use conflicts

Land-use conflicts and impacts on agricultural development trajectories in different rural areas In WP4 we will evaluate how policies that aim at enhancing ecosystem services and public goods affect agricultural development and the economic performance of farms. This will complement the analysis of WP3 about the environmental and societal impacts of such measures. In particular, we will analyse ho

Landscape context affects the relationship between local and landscape species richness of butterflies in semi-natural habitats

Local species richness of butterflies can be expected to benefit from both local habitat properties as well as the availability of suitable habitats and source populations in the surrounding landscape. Whether local species richness is dependent on local or landscape factors can be assessed by examining the relationship between local and landscape species richness. Here we studied how local specie

Structural characterization of proteins to investigate their roles in diseases: Focus on MID & LTA4H

Application of Laser-based Diagnostics to a Prototype Gas Turbine Burner at Selected Pressures

Popular Abstract in English There is a natural tendency to take advantage of the most convenient energy source available. In this usage, convenient may mean most abundant, easiest to harvest or simplest to handle. Convenient will also correspond to cheapest in many instances. However, some consider it a responsibility to think of the long term costs of the energy we use. No form of energy is free The matured laser-diagnostic techniques of planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) and particle image velocimetry (PIV) were applied to a prototype gas turbine burner operating on various fuels. The work was performed to provide verification of computational fluid dynamic (CFD) models of the combustion of atypical fuels in a gas turbine combustor. The burner was operated using methane and three s
