Harmonic morphisms, Hermitian structures and symmetric spaces

I lokala koordinater betyder detta att funktionen måsA harmonic morphism is a map between two Riemannian manifolds with the property that its composition with a local harmonic function on the codomain is a local harmonic function on the domain. Such a map is automatically a harmonic map, satisfying an additional partial conformality condition called horizontal (weak) conformality. In local coordinates, this amounts to a non-linear, over-determined s

Jämlikhetsbegreppet i den socialdemokratiska retoriken- En jämförande innehållsanalys på nationell och lokal nivå

Previous research suggests that the concept of equality has changed in the discourse of the Swedish Social Democrats since they lost power to the right wing parties in the 2006 elections. The purpose of this study was to analyze the concept of equality in the rhetorics of the Swedish Social Democrats within the areas of education and work by implementing a content analysis at the national and loca

Glocalizing sustainability : how accounting begins for sustainable development goals in city administration

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the adoption of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the new performance perspective in cities. It also aims to understand how accounting for SDGs begins in city administrations by following Power’s (2015) fourfold development schema composed of policy object formation, object elaboration, activity orchestration and practice stabilizat

In good times and in bad Immigrants, Self-employment and Social insurances.

This thesis analyses self-employment, sickness absence and early retirement pension among immigrants in Sweden. The empirical analysis investigate a period, 1981-2003, characterized by a transformation from high employment and expansion of the welfare state in the 1980s into a state with high unemployment and tightening social insurance systems during in the 1990s, This thesis goes beyond most pre

Multi-model statistical process monitoring and diagnosis of a sequencing batch reactor

Biological processes exhibit different behavior depending on the influent loads, temperature, microorganism activity, and soon. It has been shown that a combination of several models can provide a suitable approach to model such processes. In the present study, we developed a multiple statistical model approach for the monitoring of biological batch processes. The proposed method consists of four

Effects of altitude and topography on species richness of vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens in alpine communities

Question: What is the relationship between species richness of vascular plants, bryophytes and macrolichens, and two important gradients in the alpine environment, altitude and local topography? Location: Northernmost Fennoscandia, 250–1525 m a.s.l. corresponding to the range between timberline and mountain top. Methods: The vegetation was sampled in six mountain areas. For each 25 vertical metr

Evaluation of tone mapping techniques for high dynamic range imaging

The aim of realistic graphics is the creation of images that provide the same visual responses that a viewer would experience in a real world scene. There are different rendering techniques that produce high dynamic range images that capture the full intensity range of a scene. These images cannot be reproduced on a standard display due to limitations in device hardware. Therefore, a high dynamic

Kommunala maktcentrum - centrum och periferi i kommunfullmäktige

In this essay three factors, with importance for how proportionally centre and periphery in Swedish municipalities are represented in the local government, are studied. The factors are constituencies in the elections to the local government, the geographical extent of the municipalities and the relative importance of the main town or city in the municipality. By comparing how proportionally centre

Local Environmental Stakeholder Collaborations in the Kyoto Local Agenda 21-Forum

The purpose of this study was to analyze the intermediate and ultimate outcomes of the collaborations that have been conducted between environmental non-profit organizations and the local government of Kyoto City within the city’s Local Agenda 21-policy. Through a literature review and an interview-based case study in Kyoto the local context was studied. The creation of the Kyoto Local Agenda 21

Relationship between moth (night active Lepidoptera) diversity and vegetation characteristics in southern Sweden

The diversity and community composition of moths (both macro- and micromoths) at 32 sites, representing a wide range of habitat types (forests, grasslands, wetlands, agricultural and urban areas) within a restricted region in central Scania,southern-most Sweden, was investigated by use of light moth traps and compared with vascular plant species richness and habitat characteristics. The results re

Measuring coherence factors of states in superconductors through local current

The coherence factors of quasiparticles in a superconductor determine their properties, including transport as well as their susceptibility to electric fields. In this work, we propose a way to infer the local coherence factors using local transport to normal leads. Our method is based on measuring the local current through a lead as the coupling to a second one is varied; the shape of the current

Multi-scale Bark Beetle Predictions Using Machine Learning

Bark beetle attacks have led to widespread tree disturbance and deaths in many parts of the world, and thereby also economic and biodiversity losses. Forest-rich Sweden has experienced periodic attacks, latest in 2018. There is a great interest in identifying the most important explanatory features behind bark beetle attacks and making spatial predictions on where attacks might happen. This could
