Lokförare är en för olyckor särskilt utsatt grupp. I genomsnitt inträffar två allvarliga olyckor i veckan på järnvägsspåren, och statistiskt sett kommer varje lokförare att vara med om minst en påkörning med dödlig utgång under sitt yrkesliv.
