Theory for Adaptive Nonlinear Model Predictive Control is developed based on the relaxed dynamic programming inequality. The adaptivity in the controller lies in the choice of control horizon. The control horizon is chosen such that a variation of the relaxed dynamic programming inequality holds for all time steps along the closed loop trajectory. Stochastic Theory of Continuous-Time State-Space Identification

This paper presents theory, algorithms, and validation results for system identification of continuous-time state-space models from finite input-output sequences. The algorithms developed are methods of subspace model identification and stochastic realization adapted to the continuous-time context. The resulting model can be decomposed into an input-output model and a stochastic innovations model.

Analysis of Real-Time Control Systems with Time Delays

We discuss modeling and analysis of real-time control systems subject to random time delays in the communication network. A new method for analysis of given control schemes is presented. The state of the network is modeled by a Markov chain and Lyapunov equations for the expected LQG performance are presented. An example that illustrates the results is given.

High resolution digital transmission microscopy : a Fourier holography approach

Handling of ectopic beats in heart rate variability analysis using the heart timing signal

The problem of analyzing heart rate variability in the presence of ectopic beats is revisited. Based on the IPFM model and the closely related heart timing signal, a new technique is introduced which corrects for the occasional presence of such beats. The correction technique, which involves the occurrence times of a certain number of beats preceding the ectopic, is computationally very efficient.

Control Design for a Bilinear System. Reachable Sets and Exact Linearization

A bilinear system model of a continuous tank reactor from a biotechnology application (F. Mandenius et al., 1987) is studied.
