Denna uppsats ser på ståndsriksdagens diskussioner gällande motåtgärder mot missväxtkatastrofer under åren 1650-1651 och åren 1771-1772. Motåtgärderna under de två nedslagen kommer att jämföras för att få fram likheter och skillnader. Uppsatsen undersöker även om man kan se att tryck underifrån utvecklar staten på grund av missväxtkatastroferna som drabbar Sverige under de valda åren.
