Radikal högerpopulism : En jämförande idéanalys över SD, UKIP och AFD

In this thesis I suggest a definition on what right-wing populism is by comparing three right-wing populist parties; the Swedish Democrats (SD) in Sweden, the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) in Great Britain and the Alternative for Germany (AFD) in Germany. This is my question formulation. I have used the idea analysis to make the concept of right-wing populism more understandable. The ob

Towards programmatic design research

The notion of design research entails research where design practice forms part of the knowledge production. Based on our characterization of the nature of design, we propose to conceptualize this kind of research as programmatic design research. Two ongoing PhD projects in interaction design are presented as examples of programmatic research processes, highlighting issues to do with the virtues a

Människa och religion i klangens värld. Nutida vägar mot en teologisk musikestetik

The article presents and discusses a number of recent scholarly attempts to investigate theological and/or religious dimensions of music. On the basis of critical interpretations of these (Anglophone and German) contributions the article proposes an interdisciplinary approach to a theological aesthetics of music. Such a methodology necessitates any "theologizing" to respect the singular qualities

Primater emellan. En läsning av Henry Drummonds berättelse ’’Apan som ingen kunde döda’’

In children’s literature nonhuman primates are often represented either as ferocious beasts or as curios and charmful vicarious children. In this article I demonstrate how these different constructions interestingly coexist in the popular story ‘‘The monkey that would not kill’’, written by the Scottish evangelist and professor of the natural sciences Henry Drummond in 1891. My study anchors the f

Equalisation of alcohol participation among socioeconomic groups over time: an analysis based on the total differential approach and longitudinal data from Sweden

Background: Health inequality and its social determinants are well-studied, but the determinants of inequality of alcohol consumption are less well-investigated. Methods: The total differential approach of decomposition of changes in the concentration index of the probability of participation in alcohol consumption was applied to 8-year longitudinal data for Swedish women aged 28-76 in 1988/89. Re

Constituting leadership via policy: Sweden as a pioneer of climate change mitigation

This paper examines Sweden’s role as a pioneer in mitigating climate change. Critical discourse analysis of climate and energy policy unveils Sweden’s ambition to ‘lead-by-example’, by virtue of a win-win combination of economy and environment via stringent regulations and an early-mover strategy on eco-innovations. The extent of the unilateral approach is constrained by concerns for the competiti

Modularization of mechanics for airfield solutions

In ADB Safegate's airfield lighting product portfolio, two sizes of LED inset luminaires consist of similar internal components with different design. This project has investigated the possibilities to find generic design solutions for the internal components to fit both product sizes. By using modularized components the company will decrease the indirect costs of the product, for instance cos

Metaforer och materialiseringar. Om apor hos Vladimir Nabokov och Sara Stridsberg

By tradition the humanities have been anthropocentrically focused on the lives of human beings in arts and literature. The limited analysis of what other species do in literature – and of the different relations between humans and animals that are represented – has sustained the notion of a hierachical divide between humans and other species, thereby reducing the ethical potential of literature to

Inequality, Institutions, and Change - The Case of Senegal

The chapter studies the relationship between inequality and institutional change in the long-run. The key message is that societies change slowly and unpredictably because of path dependency of economic, political, and social institutions. Prevalent inequalities between different groups rooted in history may help to explain why change does not take place. This has implications for the results that
