The effectivity and easiness of Constraint Programming on the Vehicle Routing Problem
Jag har undersökt lättheten The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is a variant of the more famous Travel- ling Salesperson Problem. The VRP basically consists of finding the routes for a fleet of vehicles to visit a number of customers and in some cases op- timize this route to minimize distance traveled. Often there are many side constraints, e.g. a certain customer must be visited before a certain time. I have investigated the
A methodology to achieve sustainability within the food & beverage industry
With the world heading towards a global increase of temperature of more than 1.5°C, societies are trying to limit the dependence on fossil fuel by adopting renewable energy sources in order to limit the emission of greenhouse-gases. This master thesis strove to find a methodology to integrate renewable energy and optimisation measures in the industries of food and beverage to make them more sustai

Removal of organic micropollutantns from wastewater in a Swedish context
Due to their potential environmental risk, the abatement of organic micropollutants from wastewater has gained increasing attention in recent years. This thesis evaluates the use of ozone in Swedish wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and the incentives for full-scale implementation of organic micropollutant removal. This work is divided into two sections: the first segment comprises quantitative rDue to their potential environmental risk, the abatement of organic micropollutants from wastewater has gained increasing attention in recent years. The relation between wave asymmetry and particle orbits analysed by Slepian models
The statistical relation between ocean wave geometry and water particle movements can be formulated in the stochastic Gauss-Lagrange model. In this paper we use Slepian models to get detailed information of the sea surface elevation in the neighbourhood of local maxima in a Gaussian wave model and of the movements of the top particle of the waves. The Sounds of Silence: Making Sense of the Absence of Domestic Violence Victims Help Seeking During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Increased concern was raised globally at the outbreak of COVID-19 that victims of domestic violence would be even more at risk when isolated with a violent partner and out of reach of support due to restrictions. Swedish staff in violence against women services prepared for increased calls for help. Instead, a worrying silence arose in a time and place of high uncertainty. This paper analyses the

Diversity of soil microbial communities: In the perspective of targeting functional genes
Popular Abstract in English Soil as an ecosystem is a reservoir for several living organisms including microorganisms, earthworms, collembolans, nematodes and protozoans. They are involved in cycling the nutrients through degrading the organic compounds (source of carbon essential for all living organisms) like plant residues and respire part of it as carbon dioxide. Organic compounds get stored iAbstract Intensive land use in agriculture can lead to higher loss of biodiversity in soils and subsequently carbon due to tillage and application of pesticides and fertilizers. The microbial communities are pivotal to ecosystem processes in soil such as nutrient cycling, soil formation and plant productivity and thus are affected by land use. The main aim of this thesis is to understand the effe
