South Africa is the worst impacted country in the world in terms of HIV and AIDS. The country faces HIV prevalence rates of a good 20 percent and AIDS is today the leading cause of death in the country. As the epidemic spreads through the country it poses severe threats to the country’s economic growth and development. South Africa is thus in utmost need of free and effective health care services.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyze the services on the mobile Internet and to identify when, where, and how these service offerings can be profitable.
