Security Services and Authoritarian Stability - A Comparative Case Study of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria before the Arab Spring
This study tests the theory of Authoritarian Stability against the expectation that security services are essential for preventing the fall of the regime in Egypt, Jordan, and Syria in the lead up to the Arab Spring. A most similar comparative case study is used as method. Authoritarian stability is operationalised as the ruler maintaining the support from domestic elites and from external powers

Trading and Trading Costs : A study of the OMX30 during 2001-2006
OMX spreads decline from 2001-2006. The average volume and average number of trades / trading frequency increases over this period, whereas the average trade size decreases consistent with greater retail investor activity. Macroeconomic factors such as interest rates, inflation rate and GDP rate do not seem to affect changes in the spreads.
The need for sustainability is increasingly pressing, imposing significant demands on infrastructure and its fossil footprint. The Swedish railway network currently fails to meet future requirements, while new high-speed rail lines struggle to be established. Tight economic constraints necessitate significant time and cost savings to ensure successful project implementation. To take a step closer
Growth of branched nanowires via solution-based Au seed particle deposition
Nanowires offer unprecedented flexibility as nanoscale building blocks for future optoelectronic devices, especially with respect to nanowire solar cells and light-emitting diodes. A relatively new concept is that of charge carrier diffusion-induced light-emitting diodes, for which nanowires offer an interesting architecture by use of particle-assisted core-branch growth. The branches should be ho
